Frequently Asked Questions

What is your hourly rate?

Tutoring is billed at $140 per hour. If our schedules allow, additional time can be booked in 15-minute increments at $35 each.

Do you charge any other fees in addition to your hourly rate?

No, my hourly rate is all-inclusive. This covers worksheets, study materials, my session notes, and any resources you need to succeed. I strive to provide an unmatched tutoring experience by combining high-quality materials, personalized strategies, and mathematical expertise.

What’s the difference between in-person and online tutoring?

The quality of instruction is the same, whether we meet in person or online. If we run into technical issues during an online session, you won’t be billed for that time.

Note: In-person tutoring may not be available in your area. All appointments are manually approved, and I’ll let you know if in-person tutoring is not feasible.

When are you available for tutoring sessions?

My availability varies based on my teaching and school schedule, but I strive to be as flexible as possible. If you don’t see a time slot that works for you, reach out, and we’ll find a solution.

How does in-person tutoring work?

For in-person sessions, I can travel to your home or a public meeting place of your choice.

  • At-home sessions: Working at a dining table or quiet workspace is ideal. Parents/guardians are welcome to sit in but not required.
  • Public spaces: I recommend locations like libraries, coffee shops, or other quiet spots with tables and ample seating.

Note: In-person tutoring may not be available in your area. All appointments are manually approved, and I’ll let you know if in-person tutoring is not feasible.

What should I do to prepare for a tutoring session?

Email or text me any relevant materials you’d like to cover, such as homework assignments, exam reviews, class notes, or specific problem areas. The more information I have in advance, the better I can tailor our session to your needs and goals.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept a variety of payment options for your convenience:

  • Credit/debit cards
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay
  • Zelle
  • Afterpay (for flexible installment options)

Do you have a refund policy?

In nine years of tutoring, I’ve never had a client request a refund. That said, your satisfaction matters. If you’re ever unhappy with your experience, reach out and I’ll make it right.

Will you do my homework for me?

No, but I’ll guide you through it and help you understand how to solve the problems step by step. My goal is to help you build confidence and problem-solving skills, not just get the answers.

Will you take quizzes or exams on my behalf?

No. I believe in teaching with integrity, and completing quizzes or exams for students goes against those values. Relying on shortcuts can also harm your long-term success, especially if your future classes build on the material we cover.
